This story is a blend of my own bullied childhood and my oldest son’s gift of compassion, with the ability to see past outward appearances and include those who feel overlooked.

Again & Again
This is a story about the rewards of perseverance and hard work, despite the temptation to give up. When Benny the beaver realizes he’s all alone in this big, scary world, he can’t help but rely on the words his father used to say to him . . . “Son, if ever you don’t know what to do, just keep doing what you know. You’re a great student, and you’ve learned well. You are prepared for this world. I love you.”

My experiences in motherhood influenced this storyline. When faced with the constant choice between dedicated diligence or convenience, the answer isn’t always easy. But perseverance always pays off.

The Toymaker’s Dream
Despite the magic of Christmas, circumstances keep this young boy dreaming of a different life, without all the pain. Will his childhood dream of becoming a toymaker become a reality after growing up in the foster system with setbacks and roadblocks along the way?

This story was inspired by my husband’s grad school journey. He had a dream, and with a lot of prayer and determination,  despite challenges and disappointments at every turn, Adam traveled this road making his dream a reality . . . but not without keeping his family first.
